This offer consists of 1 kilogram of raw agatized wood—an extremely valuable and hard-to-find collector’s item originating from unique geological strata in northern Turkey. This material is characterized by the fact that the organic structures of ancient trees were replaced by chalcedony and agate during the fossilization process. Each specimen is a true mystery—the full spectrum of contrasting, colorful agate patterns and unique annual growth lines is revealed in all its splendor only after the block has been cut and polished.

Natural characteristics and uniqueness of the material from Göynücek
Dried wood from the province of Amasya is characterized by a high silica content, which makes it a dense material that is exceptionally easy to work with. Please note that natural cracks, micro-cracks, outer layers of weathered bark, and voids partially filled with quartz crystals are natural characteristics of this raw material. They attest to the authenticity of the fossilized wood and the turbulent hydrothermal processes that shaped these extraordinary structures over millions of years. It is an excellent choice for those seeking unique minerals with high aesthetic value after processing.
Why choose this material?
This raw material from the Black Sea region is widely valued in the gemstone world for its optimal hardness and its ability to be polished to a high, mirror-like luster. Due to its limited availability on the market, resin-impregnated wood from Göynücek represents an excellent investment for collectors. It performs exceptionally well during cutting and sanding, allowing you to create unique slices and halves with rich grain patterns. The photos show examples of raw blocks from the offered batch.
