Agates—their name derives from the river Achates, now known as the Dirillo in southern Sicily, where they were mined as far back as antiquity. It is a semi-precious mineral, a variety of chalcedony, formed into multicolored bands. It forms in rock cavities known as geodes. As a result of repeated processes of silica precipitation from solutions or the cyclic precipitation of pigment within a silica gel, multicolored alternating layers of highly varied hues are formed. Agates have a hardness of 6.5–7 on the 10-point Mohs scale. The specimen offered here was found in Poland.

Agate is considered a stone of fidelity and love, as well as physical, emotional, and intellectual balance. It will help you maintain inner harmony, boost your self-confidence, and provide peace of mind in various stressful situations. It symbolizes values such as love, fidelity, and balance.

Cracks, any voids, depressions, or inclusions of other minerals are natural characteristics of the stone and attest to its formation through natural geological processes.
