This deposit is famous for specimens with an exceptionally rich color palette—ranging from intense reds, warm oranges, and deep burgundy shades to contrasting bands of gray, white, and graphite. The interiors of these agates delight with their exceptionally dense, intricate banding, often crowned by a crystalline quartz core right at the center of the geode. The compactness of the local chalcedony allows for a perfect, mirror-like polished surface.
